NL: Bunnik Group launches auction website, issues update on wind down

The wind down of greenhouse grower and deco importer Bunnik Group is entering a new stage. Today, the company is launching an auction website for the sale of business assets. During this period, the first employees are also leaving the company.

On 17 September, the management of Bunnik Group announced that all activities of its three operating companies will cease as of 31 March 2026. After nearly two months, owner and CCO Dennis Bunnik reflects on the situation. "The shock after our announcement was significant, even though it was known that we were facing serious challenges." Bunnik observes that the sector has already returned to business as usual. "Our wind down is already old news. Everyone continues, and the space we leave behind creates opportunities for others. That's logical; that's just the way it is. Our focus now is on selling stock and movable assets."

On 21 November, an auction website will go live for the sale of movable assets. "Pallet jacks, potting machines, forklifts, shelving. Everything will be sold via our own auction site: https://bunnik.veilet.com/." Items that Bunnik Group still needs until 31 March next year will appear on the site as well, but will be released at a later date.

In addition, there are plenty of products available for immediate purchase directly from Bunnik outside of the auction. Several hundred thousand pots, baskets, and other items remain in stock, along with several million plant sleeves in various sizes. Bunnik Group is actively working to sell this inventory as well. Dennis Bunnik: "The same applies here: get in touch, come take a look, request a sample, and make an offer."

Dennis Bunnik hopes that the solidarity he sees within the sector will also translate into sales of the movable assets. "I hope that if growers and exporters need something, they think of us first. It may sound strange, but you are essentially supporting a good cause. Namely, ensuring that we can provide all our employees with severance pay when they leave."
