Dutch anthurium grower expands with 1.6-hectare greenhouse

At the edge of Honselersdijk, the Netherlands, the sound of construction machinery fills the air. What is now a landscape of sand and steel will soon transform into a new greenhouse: the latest expansion of Amazone Plants. With this 1.6-hectare addition, the company strengthens its position and takes the next step in its long-term growth strategy.

"This new facility allows us to bring in young plants earlier, relocate our 9-cm line and further streamline our production process," the Amazone team explains. "What began as a desire to improve processes has now developed into a project that further professionalizes anthurium cultivation."

Technology and partnership driving progress
Behind this expansion lies more than ambition alone — it is a collaborative effort. Three companies within the GreenV group are combining their strengths to deliver the new greenhouse: Prins Group, Stolze and HT Verboom Transportsystemen.

Prins Group handles the greenhouse design and construction, ensuring optimal light transmission and energy efficiency; Stolze provides the electrical systems, water technology, grow-light installation and a PV system that supplies sustainable energy; and HT Verboom Transportsystemen delivers an innovative container system equipped with a robotic arm, enabling even more efficient internal logistics.

A future-ready approach to anthurium cultivation
This expansion is much more than a construction project, it is a strategic investment. The new greenhouse gives Amazone Plants room to grow in both scale and variety, while creating even better growing conditions. By combining innovation with craftsmanship, the result is an environment where sustainability, quality and operational efficiency go hand in hand.
