Brassica, Viola cornuta, Antirrhinum, and Matthiola are known for their excellent cold tolerance and are common winter-flowering plants. Inside the greenhouse at Shanghai Hong Yuan Flowers, a vibrant array of blooms is thriving.

"Our production base covers a total of 700 mu, of which 500 mu has been developed and is© Shanghai Hong Yuan Flowers operational, with another 200 mu currently under planning and construction," said Zhu Zhonglin (pictured right), the company's owner. The operation comprises four bases in Shanghai and the surrounding areas, utilizing a mix of glass greenhouses, film greenhouses, and open-field cultivation. Current annual production reaches approximately 20 million pots. Our new flower base in Songjiang, Shanghai, is scheduled to undergo final inspection by the end of this month and will become operational next month.

"We maintain strong partnerships with numerous overseas breeders, who actively invite us to trial their new varieties," he added.

The base in Jinshan, Shanghai, was built to high-standard glass greenhouse specifications and is equipped with tidal benches. It also features a rainwater recycling system, enhancing its environmental sustainability.

The company grows over 100 flower varieties, which change according to the season. Landscaping projects are a primary client segment, as urban parks require large volumes of flowers. Varieties with rich color, long bloom periods, and strong disease resistance hold significant potential. Celosia, Antirrhinum, and Matthiola are frequently used in landscapes, with light pink and pink-toned varieties gaining increasing popularity.
