GTC+ event on chain collaboration

Is it possible to collaborate in a chain with Champions League players and fourth division amateurs?

The GTC+ networking event took place on Thursday, 27 November at Rozen & Radijs in Burgerveen. The theme was Collaboration in the Supply Chain, and about 35 people from the floriculture sector attended.

GTC+ believes that collaboration makes every part of the supply chain stronger. Or as Remco Jansen from GTC+ said in the introduction: "Collaboration is about added value and the best result." During the networking moments, people drew quick parallels with football, another world where teamwork is everything and a topic many never tire of discussing.

The guest speaker, Jeroen Rijsdijk, head coach at Almere City, led an interactive session on how he builds strong performance. He explained the steps he works through again and again: shaping culture, setting goals, preparing well, defining game principles, analyzing opponents, training with purpose, and then reviewing and giving feedback. In professional football, that final step is automatic. He also showed how many stakeholders are involved in a club, from players and staff to the board, the KNVB, and even the police. Several participants noted that the floriculture sector could gain a lot by giving more attention to that last step he stressed: evaluation and feedback.

After a short break, Merthus Bezemer from GTC+ shared two examples of supply chain collaboration and opened a discussion on why cooperation matters. The conversation moved from initiatives like FSI to the question of whether top level players and amateur players can really work together. The group agreed on one clear conclusion: trust is the foundation of any collaboration. When trust is in place, the base is strong and real cooperation can happen.
