The Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at Colorado State University will host its annual Poinsettia Sale on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the CSU Horticulture Center, 1707 Centre Ave. Featuring 93 cultivars in striking shades of pink, red and white, the sale features 1,200 plants grown and cared for by upper-level students in the floriculture practicum class. Prices are $15 for 6-inch pots and $20 for 8-inch pots. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted.

The hands-on practicum course equips students with greenhouse management skills, including crop care, pest control and environmental regulation. Proceeds from the sale support future student learning and research initiatives at the CSU Horticulture Center.

Attendees can vote for their favorite poinsettias, and trial plants will also be available for purchase. Early arrival is recommended, as plants sell quickly. For more information, contact Mike Hazlett, research associate at the CSU Horticulture Center, at [email protected].
