New smart camera launched for potted plants

Aris B.V., an automation specialist for horticulture, has introduced A-Eye, a compact and affordable smart camera for plant quality control. After successful trials at multiple sites, A-Eye is now available for sale. The system delivers AI-powered grading in a simplified, cost-effective package, without the need for large cabinets or complex setups.

A-Eye is designed as an all-in-one unit with integrated LED lighting to capture clear, consistent images. Its AI-driven analysis enables automated product grading, while keeping costs low enough to make it an accessible entry-level solution. The system is easy to integrate, connecting smoothly with existing management systems and working alongside machine integrators.

Using a single top or side image, A-Eye can measure size and volume, detect flowering, count plants, bulbs, flowers, and buds, and check whether the minimum number of plants in a pot has been met. It can also help direct plants based on leaf or stem position and support overall quality control, with additional capabilities possible as the system evolves.

A-Eye is suitable for ornamental growers, young plant producers, breeders, bulb growers, tree nurseries, and more. In practice, it offers a flexible and practical solution for the entire horticultural sector.
