St. Petersburg in Florida is getting a flower farm in the Warehouse Arts District. Padmé Flower Farm is taking shape near 22nd Street South and 3rd Avenue South, promising locally grown blooms in a part of town better known for studios and warehouses than petals.
Padmé is the creation of Mallika Nair, who describes the farm as her "artistic expression." After piloting a small plot at Beacon Food Forest in Clearwater, Nair is now building out this new "dream location" in the heart of the district.
The goal is "slow flowers," grown by hand without harmful pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, using practices like composting, mulching, and crop rotation to keep the soil thriving and the bees buzzing. In other words, these are flowers you can actually bury your face in without immediately wondering what you just inhaled.
Padmé says blooms will be available starting February 2026, with seasonal stunners like ranunculus, snapdragons, and anemones. The farm is also inviting locals to join its mailing list for updates, events, and opportunities to "frolic on the farm."
