UK: Nursery seeks expansion approval

A plant nursery glasshouse could be built for a growing business under plans which are being considered by the council.

King's Nurseries, based in Garthmyl, which is between Newtown and Welshpool, has applied for planning permission for a glasshouse extension.

The specialist growers opened their current site in 2008 and sell seasonal bedding and basket plants, hanging baskets and perennials and horticultural supplies. An application made on behalf of King's Nurseries owner Marcus King says the glass and aluminium extension would "ensure the business can continue to meet demands for wholesale production of the site, safeguarding jobs".
