UConn to host Spring Bedding Plant Workshop 2026

UConn Extension has announced the 2026 UConn Spring Bedding Plant Workshop, to be held on February 11, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, Jones Auditorium, 123 Huntington Street, New Haven, Connecticut. This in-person program is designed for commercial greenhouse growers of bedding plants and herbs and will focus on practical, research-based strategies that can be applied directly to spring production.

The workshop will feature expert speakers from universities and industry in New England and Pennsylvania who will address current topics, including insect and disease management, water quality improvement, crop nutrition, controlled environment production, biological control programs, and biofungicide optimization. Sessions will emphasize actionable approaches to starting crops clean, managing environmental stress, improving plant health, and staying ahead of pest pressure throughout the season.

Three pesticide recertification credits have been approved by Connecticut and New England states in categories PA, 1A, and 3C. New York has approved 1.75 credits in categories 1A, 3A, 24, and 25. Registration includes coffee and a light breakfast as well as lunch, generously sponsored by BioWorks and Gowan USA.
