At IPM Essen in Germany (Hall 2, stand 2D42), Bailey Nurseries will present a selection of shrubs and hydrangeas that reflects the combination of breeding expertise, market insight and practical growing experience. Two new introductions took centre stage: Spring Sizzle® Hydrangea paniculata, marketed under the shrub brand First Editions, and DreamCloud® Hydrangea macrophylla, the latest white reblooming innovation from the Endless Summer range.

Spring Sizzle
Spring Sizzle: early blooming paniculata with seasonal impact
With Spring Sizzle, First Editions expands its paniculata assortment within the shrub segment. This variety is among the earliest flowering Hydrangea paniculata cultivars, bringing colour to the garden from late May or early June. The flowers open bright white and quickly develop into a deep, intense red, including in warmer climates.
The large panicles are carried on strong, upright stems that remain standing, resulting in a uniform and well-presented plant. With a mature height of approximately 120 to 170 cm and a width of 120 to 150 cm, Spring Sizzle is well suited for hedging, foundation plantings and large-scale landscape use. According to the breeder, the combination of early flowering, vigorous growth and consistent plant structure makes this paniculata attractive for both production and retail. Spring Sizzle is scheduled to be available from spring 2026.

Spring Sizzle
DreamCloud: pure white and non-stop blooming until winter
Within the Endless Summer range, DreamCloud represents a new introduction. This Hydrangea macrophylla flowers from spring through to winter on both old and new wood, delivering a long and consistent flowering performance.
DreamCloud is characterised by full, ball-shaped, bright white blooms that show less discolouration over time. The plant has a compact and uniform growth habit of approximately 90 to 120 cm, supported by strong branching. Healthy, dark green foliage and improved resistance to diseases such as Cercospora and powdery mildew contribute to a well-maintained appearance throughout the season. DreamCloud is scheduled to be available from spring 2026.
