China's moth orchid exports are seeing a significant surge, driven by rising international demand and supported by efficient logistics. In Foshan City of south China's Guangdong Province, vibrant flowers are being packed and shipped across borders.
Li Haili, a moth orchid wholesaler, was busy preparing a shipment bound for Singapore. Carefully selected based on bud count and height, these flowers are timed to bloom upon arrival abroad. They are meticulously packed into custom-designed cartons, sealed with tape, and treated with water-based preservatives to maintain freshness during long-distance transportation.
"Some customers start placing orders immediately after inquiring. Compared to previous years, the orders are coming in earlier. The export volume this year looks to be higher," Li said.
Zhong Rubin, another wholesaler, said the flowers shipped in the afternoon can reach Vietnam within 24 hours. As logistics infrastructure continues to improve, the number of international buyers is increasing rapidly, supporting the export boom.
