India: Navsari flower show enters Guinness Word Records

Navsari Municipal Corporation (NMC) etched its name into the Guinness World Records during its first-ever flower show by creating an eight-foot-high, 49-foot-long floral wall spelling out the word 'Navsari' using over 95,000 flowers.

The record was recognized under the category 'word made with the highest number of flowers' and was officially registered in the name of the civic body, giving the city a rare global distinction.

Calling the event more than just a floral exhibition, central water resources minister and Navsari MP C R Paatil said the flower show symbolised the govt's commitment to good governance, sustainable development and environmental protection.

Organised by the NMC, the exhibition showcased over one million plants, comprising 25 varieties of flowering crops and more than 40 shades of flowers, and attracted a steady stream of visitors. Floral creations inspired by designs from the US, Japan, the Netherlands and Germany added an international flavour to the event.
