The number of entries was slightly lower than in previous years. Despite this, the KAVB reported a broad and varied selection of cut tulips. Overall quality was good, although some entries showed issues such as limited uniformity, short stems, or flowers that were too small. Several entries were shortlisted by the jury, which required extended deliberation before reaching a final decision. According to the organisers, the exhibition provided a useful first impression of the assortment that growers and traders can expect.
Forcing coxes
First prize was awarded to breeder Hybris from Lisse with seedling 1473-7-2. The jury described it as a uniform tulip with upright growth, red flowers with a yellow edge, and good leaf colour. Second prize went to Borst Bloembollen from Obdam for seedling LW-X, noted for its healthy green foliage, well-proportioned flower size, uniformity, and a strong purple-red colour with a narrow white edge. Borst Bloembollen also took third prize with the red-and-yellow tulip 'Aloha', which stood out for its uniformity and clear colour contrast.
Cut tulips in pots
The award for best pot was given to 'Firebolt' from Van Woesik Veredeling in Breezand. The entry was praised for its large, uniform flowers, strong red colour, and well-balanced proportions.
