Poinsettia Awards 2025: Endhoven Flowering Plants wins Overall Award with Christmas Time

The annual Poinsettia Awards were presented during a poinsettia crop meeting held at the new Hortitech research centre in Honselersdijk. The benchmark is organised each year by Glastuinbouw Nederland in cooperation with Selecta, Dümmen Orange, Lazzeri, Florensis, and Beekenkamp.

Growers were recognised in several categories for the most distinctive poinsettias of the season. The overall winner was Endhoven Flowering Plants with the variety Christmas Time.

On behalf of Glastuinbouw Nederland, Jasper van Diemen announced the nominees and winners per category:

  • Pot size 11 cm and smaller – Colours: Kwekerij Sjaak Buijs with Christmas Feelings Fantasy Pink
  • Pot size 11 cm and smaller – Red: Endhoven Flowering Plants with Christmas Time
  • Pot size 12–13 cm – Colours: Gevers Plant with Alaska
  • Pot size 12–13 cm – Red: Kwekerij Stals with Christmas Time
  • Pot size 14 cm and larger – Colours and Red: Tim van Leeuwen with Superba Pink and Maestro Red

The overall award went to Endhoven Flowering Plants with Christmas Time. The Innovation Award was presented to Dümmen Orange for R808 NO.

Promotion
In addition to the award ceremony, participants were given a tour of the research centre's facilities, where applied research is aimed at supporting further development of the horticulture sector. Janny Memelink of The Concept Factory presented the Stars for Europe promotional campaign, which has been used to support poinsettia promotion. The programme concluded with a market overview by Susanne Vijverberg of Royal FloraHolland, providing growers with insights into market data from the most recent poinsettia season.
