"The news was received with pride and excitement across the organization," says Rushabh Shah of Osho Chemical Industries, which has recently received multiple awards. "Employees viewed the recognition as a meaningful validation of the culture they help build every day. It reinforced a strong sense of belonging and appreciation, while motivating teams to continue raising the bar in how they collaborate, perform, and support one another."
One of the highlights was being named Africa's Top Manufacturer, an achievement that Rushabh describes as the result of decades of consistent effort. "Winning this prestigious award is a validation of decades of dedication to quality manufacturing, customer trust, and continuous improvement," he explains. "In an increasingly competitive and globalized manufacturing landscape, the award positions Osho Chemical Industries as a benchmark for what African manufacturing can achieve at world-class standards." He adds that the recognition also reflects the company's strong focus on innovation.

Investing in people and processes
Rushabh points to continuous investment in technology, people, and processes as key drivers behind the success. "Osho Chemical Industries has continuously invested in modern technologies, investment in our people, research, and process optimization to improve efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility," he says. A recent milestone was the National Industrial Training certification of 66 machine operators, a first in Kenya. "This ensures our machine operators had a formal education to back up their skills on the shop floor."
Beyond manufacturing excellence, Osho Chemicals was also ranked as the 2nd Best Place to Work in Kenya. Rushabh describes the working environment as open and collaborative. "The working atmosphere at Osho Chemical Industries Ltd is open, respectful, and performance driven," he notes. "There is a strong culture of trust, clear communication, and teamwork, where employees feel safe to share ideas, take initiative, and grow."

A workplace that supports women
The company was additionally recognized as the Best Workplace for Women in Kenya, an award Rushabh says reflects everyday practices rather than one-off initiatives. "Supporting women at Osho Chemical Industries Ltd is part of our everyday culture," he explains. "We uphold fair and transparent recruitment, promotion, and pay practices, ensuring equal opportunities for growth and leadership."
Practical measures are also in place. "Flexible work arrangements are provided where possible to support work–life balance, alongside structured career development and continuous learning," Rushabh says. "We also provide a dedicated mother's room, creating a supportive and dignified environment for nursing mothers."
According to Rushabh, inclusion and equal opportunities are essential to both culture and performance. "Inclusion and equal opportunities are critical to building trust, driving innovation, and sustaining long-term performance," he states. "For Osho Chemical Industries Ltd, inclusion is not only a cultural priority but also a business imperative."

Impact on talent and performance
The workplace awards play a clear role in attracting and retaining talent. "These awards enhance Osho's employer brand by providing credible, independent validation of its workplace culture," Rushabh says. "They help attract skilled professionals who value purpose, growth, and fairness, while reinforcing pride and loyalty among existing employees."
Motivated employees, he adds, directly impact manufacturing results. "Motivated and satisfied employees are more focused, accountable, and quality-conscious," Rushabh explains. "In a manufacturing environment, this translates into improved safety, higher productivity, better quality output, and reduced operational inefficiencies."

Looking ahead
Looking to the future, the awards set a higher benchmark for the company. "Being named Best Manufacturer in Africa sets a higher benchmark for performance, innovation, and product quality," Rushabh says, noting that this will drive further investments in advanced manufacturing technologies, research, and sustainable production processes.
At the same time, Osho plans to continue strengthening its people-first approach. "Looking ahead, Osho plans to further strengthen employee engagement, leadership development, and workplace policies that support diversity, equity, and professional growth," he concludes. "As Osho moves forward, these awards serve both as motivation and responsibility—to continuously raise standards and deliver lasting impact for employees, customers, and communities across Africa."
