Photo report: IPM Essen 2026

Nearly 40,000 visitors attended IPM Essen last week to see the latest trends and innovations, and to catch up with familiar faces from the industry. Over 1,400 exhibitors were present at the fair, showcasing their tulips, primulas, substrates, and plant pots.

In addition to a large Dutch delegation, there were also Belgian, Spanish, Italian, and Turkish pavilions at the fair. The number of Dutch exhibitors in halls 1 & 2 was noticeably lower.

The fair started quietly but positively on Tuesday, with high-quality visitors. Wednesday was expected to be busy but turned out calm, likely due to the snowfall. On Thursday, visitor numbers picked up steadily, while Friday is traditionally a quiet day. Yet, the end of the fair brought some liveliness and striking images, as visitors returned home with bags and carts full of flowers. After all, the stands still had to be emptied.

IPM Essen is also on the agenda for 2027, taking place from January 26 to 29. According to the organizers, 85 percent of exhibitors have already decided to participate next year.
