The Fred C. Gloeckner Foundation Research Fund (FCGFRF) of the American Floral Endowment (AFE) is now accepting grant proposals for research and educational projects in floriculture. The submission deadline is April 1, 2026.
Eligible proposals include those addressing critical topics in floriculture related to plant pathology, plant breeding, agricultural economics, agricultural engineering, entomology, and plant physiology. Applications are open to universities, colleges, and federal research institutions across the United States.
The FCGFRF is a named fund within the American Floral Endowment that continues the legacy of the Fred C. Gloeckner Foundation, which was a nonprofit, educational corporation organized in 1960. Since its inception, it has awarded $7.5 million to support innovative floriculture research, and in 2025 alone, awarded $122,000 in funding.
Applications must be submitted electronically as a PDF document to AFE Research Coordinator, Laura Barth ([email protected]), by April 1, 2026. Approved proposals will be announced following the annual committee meeting in June, with grant funds disbursed in August.
Through the continued support of the industry and academic institutions, the Fred C. Gloeckner Foundation Research Fund remains a vital resource for advancing research and innovation in floriculture.
