UK grower says her biggest worry is drought

Rozanne Delamore is now in her sixth season as the Ledbury Flower Farmer. She set up the farm because of her love of gardening and growing, finding it therapeutic and healing.

The 45 year old said: "I had discovered flowers from the farm the summer before (2020) and could see that ladies were making a proper business of it rather than just an honesty box on the drive way.

"I studied an environmental degree and have always loved the countryside. I couldn't work in an office so it seemed the perfect thing to do. Especially once I learnt that the average bridal bouquet has travelled 4500 miles with stems from Kenya or Columbia.

"A bunch of supermarket roses is the same carbon footprint as a seat on a plane from New York to London. I grow sustainably using no chemicals and with the season- nothing is forced. When I do floristry it is all with sustainable mechanics - no floral foam or single use plastics."
