Taiwan: Dual exhibitions to showcase orchid beauty and floral technology

The "2026 Taiwan International Orchid Show (TIOS) and Floral Technology Exhibition (FTE)" will take place from February 27 to March 16, 2026, at the Floral Industry Innovation Park in© Floral Industry Innovation Center, MOA, Taiwan Tainan, Taiwan. Participants can discover Taiwan's premier orchid varieties, experience the cutting edge of the industry through AI-integrated immersive displays, and connect with global exporters to discuss future supply chain opportunities.

The show's mascot "Orchidsaur", warmly welcomes guests from Taiwan and around the world to join this celebration.

Now in its 22nd year, the TIOS continues to be a key event for the global orchid industry. The theme of this year's show is "Blooming Taiwan", representing the strength and energy of the nation's floral sector. This concept serves as a powerful symbol of the industry's recovery after the challenges of 2025, including the impacts of Typhoon Danas and the pressures of U.S. reciprocal tariffs. Despite these hurdles, Taiwan's orchid industry has shown remarkable persistence, overcoming difficulties to start a new era of growth and technological innovation. In addition, this will be first time the TIOS and the FTE are being held jointly. Through this joint exhibition platform, the Ministry of Agriculture aims to connect industry, technology, and society. This creates a diverse experience that will comprehensively demonstrate the achievements of Taiwan's floral industry as it enters a new era.

During the pre-event press conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Hu Jong-I highlighted the industry's importance. "Orchids are the pride of Taiwan as well as the most competitive product of our floral industry," Hu stated. "Taiwan's annual orchids export value reaches roughly 200 million USD; in particular, Phalaenopsis (moth orchids) account for over 90% of the total value of Taiwan's flower exports, maintaining a leading position in the global market for many years."

The event offers a wealth of highlights, featuring a display of over 10,000 blooming orchids and more than 1,000 competitive varieties that showcase Taiwan's premier breeding achievements. For industry professionals, a dedicated four-day B2B matchmaking zone provides a specialized platform to facilitate global supply chain transactions and trade discussions. The exhibition also integrates over 100 vendors demonstrating the diverse applications of floral art in daily life and landscape design. Complementing the displays, the "Floral Industry Forum" will gather global experts to discuss production technology, market trends, and sustainable breeding. A major draw is the FTE, which utilizes technology-based art to blend floral beauty with digital innovation. This section features AI-integrated displays, 3D holographic projections, and a record-breaking 65-meter curved screen—the largest in Taiwan—offering a "five-senses" immersive experience that breaks the boundaries of traditional floral exhibitions.

The event will not only be a floral banquet, it will be an international stage on which to display the transformation and innovative capabilities of Taiwan's floral industry. We sincerely invites ordinary people, industry figures, and individuals from related fields from both Taiwan and abroad to actively participate. At the joint exhibition they can personally experience the robustness that Taiwan's floriculture continues to show regardless of adversity, and see the beauty of the flowers of Taiwan.
