A new edition of Dianthus Week is set to bloom in week 11 of 2026. Colombia continues to strengthen its position through innovation, genetic development, and close collaboration between breeders and growers. After five consecutive years, Dianthus Week has consolidated itself as a reference platform for technical exchange, innovation, and international networking around Colombian-grown Dianthus.
Organized by Dianthus Land Colombia, the 2026 edition will take place from March 9 to 13 across the farms of seven participating breeders located in the Bogotá Savannah, one of the country's most important floriculture regions. The event will offer international buyers, growers, and industry stakeholders the opportunity to experience firsthand the latest developments in genetics, emerging market trends, and new commercial opportunities within the Dianthus segment.

Over the past five years, Dianthus Week has evolved into a strategic showcase for Colombia's technical capacity, breeding innovation, and varietal diversity. In a highly specialized floral segment such as Dianthus, where differentiation, vase life, uniformity, and color performance are critical, this type of initiative reinforces Colombia's reputation as a competitive, reliable, and forward-looking floral origin.
During the week, visitors will have access to seven breeders' showcases, where new varieties and advanced breeding lines will be presented in commercial settings. Attendees will be able to explore carnations, mini carnations, barbatus varieties, single-flowered Dianthus, and small single-flowered types, reflecting the evolution and diversification of this product category in response to global demand.

The participating breeders in Dianthus Week 2026 include BreierCross, Dümmen Orange, HilverdaFlorist Colombia, Propagar Plantas, Santamaria, SB Talee, and Selecta One. The showcases will remain in the same locations as previous editions, with one notable update: Dümmen Orange will present its varieties in a new dedicated location, expanding the visitor experience for 2026.
Beyond varietal displays, Dianthus Week serves as a space for technical and commercial dialogue that can only happen when the industry gathers in person. New introductions, multiple codes under observation, and in-depth conversations around performance, productivity, and market fit are expected to shape the week's agenda. For breeders and producers alike, it represents a valuable opportunity to align innovation pipelines with evolving international market expectations.

Colombia's agroclimatic conditions, technical expertise, and long-standing export infrastructure allow breeders and growers to develop Dianthus varieties tailored to international standards, particularly in North America and Europe, where demand for differentiated carnations and specialty Dianthus remains steady. As the global benchmark for Dianthus production, Colombia continues to demonstrate how specialization, innovation, and coordinated industry efforts can drive sustained competitiveness.
