From 24–27 February, Ball Cut Flowers will open the doors of its trial station in Naivasha, Kenya, for its Open Days. This year, the event is built around a central concept that will guide the company's activities and communications throughout the year: Across the Flower-verse.
"During the Open Days, visitors will be invited to move across the Flower-verse, a curated journey through different floral universes where varieties are experienced through performance, emotion, and market relevance," says Cristina Lopez Patron from Ball.
According to Cristina, the event is designed as an immersive experience. "From proven core genetics to new innovations, each space reveals how a seed evolves into a complete floral world," she explains.

Performance within each universe
The main focus of the Open Days is on how each variety performs within its own universe. "We focus on everything from breeding intent and grower performance to market application," Cristina notes. "The Open Days highlight how Ball connects innovation, adaptability, and demand creation across the Flower-verse."

For growers, customers and partners
The event is tailored to a broad professional audience. "The Open Days are designed for growers, customers, and partners who want to explore new floral universes and understand how genetics translate into real opportunities across the supply chain, from production to the final consumer," says Cristina.

Naivasha: where concept meets commercial reality
Hosting the Open Days at the Naivasha trial station is a deliberate choice. "Naivasha is where the Flower-verse meets real-world conditions," Cristina explains. "As a key global production hub, it allows Ball to test, refine, and showcase varieties in an environment that mirrors commercial reality, ensuring each floral universe is built to perform at scale."
"These Open Days are more than a showcase; they are an invitation to explore, connect, and co-create," Cristina concludes. "At Ball, we don't just breed flowers; we create worlds. And during these Open Days, visitors are invited to step into them."
