Multi-year educational partnership announced to support florists across Ireland

The Institute of Flowers in Ireland has announced a new multi-year educational partnership with floral designer Joseph Massie, marking a step forward for professional floristry in Ireland. The collaboration is designed to provide long-term support, high-level training, and creative inspiration for florists across the country.

Through this partnership, Joseph Massie, founder of The UK School of Floristry and LearnJosephMassie.com, will work closely with the Institute of Flowers to deliver a wide programme of in-person and online education through to 2029. The shared goal is clear: to equip floral professionals with the creative and business skills needed to succeed in a competitive and constantly evolving industry.

The programme will begin with an exclusive two-day Wedding and Event Masterclass in Ireland in October 2026. From there, a series of live online workshops will be rolled out specifically for members of the Institute of Flowers. Each session will focus on essential aspects of floral design, artistry, sustainability, and business strategy, helping florists refine their creative voice while building resilient, profitable businesses.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to be working with the Institute of Flowers on this collaboration," said Joseph Massie. "Supporting florists in Ireland has always been close to my heart. I was fortunate to work with the Irish floristry community over a decade ago, and it's a real joy to return in this new capacity. Education is central to what we do at The UK School of Floristry and LearnJosephMassie.com. I believe every florist deserves the opportunity to strengthen their skills, grow their creativity, and build the career they want. This partnership is about creating those opportunities and making them accessible."

Internationally recognised for his innovative approach to floral design and education, Massie combines technical precision with artistry and a strong commitment to sustainability. Through his teaching, he has supported thousands of students worldwide in developing confidence, refining their craft, and building meaningful careers in floristry.

For the Institute of Flowers, the partnership reflects a long-term commitment to structured, high-quality education and professional development. Fionnuala Mc Auley, Founder of the Institute of Flowers, described the collaboration as a natural progression.

"Working with Joseph is a natural step for the Institute of Flowers. His growth as a designer and educator mirrors the same commitment to continuous development that we champion for Irish florists. We are proud to offer sustained, world-class education through this partnership. Irish floristry is incredibly strong, but structured access to leading international expertise is transformative. This collaboration represents something Ireland has not experienced before — a long-term, meaningful investment in the professional future of florists."

By partnering with international educators, the Institute of Flowers continues to strengthen Ireland's position within the global floral community. Most importantly, it ensures that its members have consistent access to the knowledge, skills, and inspiration needed not just to succeed, but to thrive.
