Over 300,000 pots of Beacon Impatiens were planted at the Guangzhou Haixinsha Asian Games Theme Park. The coordinated use of three cultivars—'Bright Red', 'Lipstick', and 'Light Pink'—enhanced the visual appeal of the landscape, serving as a festive landmark and conveying a warm welcome to residents and visitors.

Downy mildew of Impatiens has occurred widely across China in recent years. In Guangzhou, current climatic conditions—characterized by high humidity and moderate temperatures—are highly conducive to disease outbreaks. As a result, local growers have suffered significant economic losses and diminished confidence in this crop. Given Guangzhou's status as a major regional market for Impatiens, with the help of Ball Yuemei, Beacon tested in Guangzhou Haixinsha Asian Games Theme Park last year to rigorously evaluate the disease resistance and landscape performance of 'Beacon' Impatiens. Following successful validation under local conditions, 'Beacon' was selected for large-scale deployment in this year's flagship landscaping project.
