Award winners announced for 2026 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) has announced the award winners of the 2026 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show, themed "Rooted: Origins of American Gardening." This year's show is taking place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and runs through March 8, 2026. With immersive landscapes, imaginative floral artistry and forward-looking design, the 2026 edition invites visitors to explore how gardening traditions across the United States continue to evolve and inspire new generations.

"We are proud to recognize this year's award winners whose exceptional design, horticultural skill, and storytelling elevate the Flower Show experience. Their work not only honors the rich roots of American gardening but also demonstrates how creativity and innovation can inspire more resilient, beautiful, and connected communities," said Seth Pearsoll, Vice President and Creative Director of the Flower Show at PHS.

Among the show's most prestigious honors are the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show Cup for Best in Show, the Philadelphia Trophy and the Mayor's Trophy. In the Floral category, the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show Cup for Best in Show – Floral was awarded to Arrange, LLC for its exhibit "My Atomic Number." The design reflects the founder's personal gardening origin story, shaped by curiosity, experimentation and a deep connection to nature. Through layered textures and dynamic forms, the exhibit channels themes of energy, pressure and transformation, expressing a journey in which early fascination with the natural world grows into a powerful creative force.

In the Landscape category, the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show Cup for Best in Show – Landscape was presented to Mark Cook Landscape & Contracting, LLC for "The Unseen Palette." The exhibit captures the instinctive process of artistic creation, where unspoken ideas are translated into bold color combinations, layered plantings and expressive design. Rooted in horticultural history, it presents an expansive palette in which flowers and textures come together in a purposeful and fluid composition.

In the Educational Exhibits category, which highlights high school and university participants, the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show Cup for Best in Show – Educational Exhibits went to Mercer County Community College for "Peter Henderson to Present: The Horticulturists of the Garden State." The exhibit traces New Jersey's horticultural legacy from 19th-century grower Peter Henderson to modern innovators who have shaped plant production in the state. Designed as a working farm environment, it demonstrates how research, industry and education continue to influence contemporary gardening and agriculture.
