Ahead of International Women's Day, Kyrgyzstan has recorded a seasonal surge in fresh flower imports. According to the press service of the State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, more than 4 million flowers have already been delivered to the country.
Since the beginning of February, 4.07 million fresh flowers have been imported, marking a 31% increase compared to January. The majority of shipments arrive by air.
The main supplying countries remain Kenya, China, Ecuador, the Netherlands and Colombia.
Roses, carnations, orchids, chrysanthemums and lilies are the most in-demand flowers in February. Roses traditionally dominate imports, accounting for 3.56 million stems and representing the largest share of total flower deliveries.
