The Netherlands and China remain the main suppliers of imported flowers to the Urals, according to the press service of the Ural Customs Administration.
In February 2026 alone, customs officials cleared more than 8 million imported flowers. Since the beginning of the year, over 670 tonnes of floral products, equivalent to around 13 million stems, have been delivered to the region.
Roses account for the largest share of imports, with more than 3 million stems (185 tonnes). Chrysanthemums and carnations rank second and third, at around 1 million stems each (74.5 tonnes and 32 tonnes respectively). Ahead of March 8, nearly 3 million tulips have been imported since early February, with the main volumes arriving from mid-month.
Most flowers are delivered to the Urals by road. The Netherlands leads among supplier countries, accounting for about 70% of total imports. From the Netherlands, flowers grown both domestically and in Ecuador, Kenya, Colombia and Italy are shipped to Russia. Direct imports from Ecuador represent 14% of total volumes. The remaining share is supplied by China.
From China, customs authorities in the Urals cleared 118 tonnes of fresh flowers, including 820,000 carnations (31 tonnes), 376,000 roses (43 tonnes) and 250,000 chrysanthemums (14 tonnes).
