Warm temperatures push tulip bloom season earlier at Middle Tennessee farm

Unusually warm temperatures are affecting local agriculture in Middle Tennessee, with tulips at one farm beginning to emerge earlier than expected.

Tulips typically begin to bloom in Middle Tennessee in mid-March. With temperatures forecast in the upper 70s and low 80s this week, the flowers at Lucky Ladd Farms in Eagleville are getting an early start.

Amy Ladd of Lucky Ladd Farms said the fields are already beginning to show color.
