Municipal greenhouse complexes in Kyiv plan to grow more than 4 million annual, biennial and perennial plants in 2026 for planting in parks, squares and streets across the city.
According to the Kyiv City State Administration, the total greenhouse area operated by municipal enterprises responsible for maintaining green spaces exceeds 17,000 square metres. The facilities carry out the full production cycle from seed sowing and seedling cultivation to preparing plants for planting in open ground.
The greenhouses produce a range of ornamental plants, including tagetes, salvia, begonia, petunia, ageratum, gazania, verbena, antirrhinum and coleus. These species form the basis of seasonal flower displays across the city.
Municipal enterprises manage the entire cultivation process internally, allowing the city to plan planting programmes and supply planting material for urban landscaping.
In 2025, municipal greenhouse facilities in Kyiv produced more than 4.5 million flowers used for the renewal and diversification of green areas in the city. The production allowed the municipality to supply planting material without additional purchases.
