More than 500 million Santini Calimero stems have now been produced and traded worldwide. This milestone confirms Calimero as one of the most successful and recognisable santini series in the global chrysanthemum market.

A distinctive santini variety
Santini Calimero has been highly valued by growers, traders and florists for many years. The series is available as a cut chrysanthemum and as a potted plant and is characterised by its refined appearance. With flowers measuring around 2 centimetres in diameter and very sturdy stems, Calimero combines elegance with reliability.

Creative freedom for florists
Thanks to its compact habit and small flower size, Calimero is suitable for a wide range of applications. From modern and contemporary floral designs to bridal work, biedermeiers, bouquets and classic arrangements. This versatility allows florists to fully express their creativity.

An extensive family with global reach
Calimero is available in a colour range of nine colours, making the series broadly applicable across seasons and market segments. The majority of Calimero stems worldwide have been produced by Dalat Hasfarm, a leading grower in Vietnam.

In Europe, LS Santini has cultivated Calimero for many years and introduced the variety to the market.

Recognition of a shared achievement
To mark this shared global achievement, Dalat Hasfarm and LS Santini were recently honoured with a commemorative plaque, presented by the breeder who laid the foundation for this successful variety.

"When developing Calimero, the focus was on compactness, flower quality and reliable performance. The fact that the series has been embraced worldwide and continues to prove its value year after year is largely thanks to the growers and partners working with it every day," says breeder Fred van der Meer.

Appreciation for partners and customers
Other customers who have contributed to Calimero's success are also being recognised. These include Straathof, Plantenkwekerij Valstar, Schoenmaker/Terra Viva and Blomsterringen. They will receive a festive token of appreciation in recognition of their contribution.

With more than half a billion stems produced, Santini Calimero demonstrates how strong breeding, long-term cooperation and market relevance can result in enduring international success.
