Scotland: Plant nursery bought by young entrepreneur

A plant nursery and specialist grower has now been bought by a young entrepreneur, as the family running it for more than four decades get ready to enjoy retirement.

Macplants Berrybank Nursery, near Boggs Holdings, boasts clients including Balmoral Castle, Historic Scotland, Holyrood Palace, the Royal Horticultural Society and the National Trust for Scotland, golf courses and international garden designers, and the new owner has "big plans for growth".

Twenty-eight-year-old Josh Dow hopes firstly to add a café to the site and architects are currently drawing up the plans, with hopes that it can open to customers this summer.
