On March 15, 2026, the National Mall in Washington D.C. hosted the inaugural edition of Tulip Day Washington. With 150,000 tulips in bloom and an estimated 12,500 visitors, the iconic public space was transformed for one day into a pick-your-own flower garden, offering views of the Capitol building. Families, tourists, and local residents were each invited to pick up to ten tulips free of charge.

The United States capital provided a symbolic backdrop for the spring celebration, with the event taking place as the country prepares for the 250th anniversary of its independence.
"We are incredibly grateful for the thousands of visitors who joined us to celebrate spring on the National Mall," said Mark-Jan Terwindt, CEO of Royal Anthos.
The tulips on display were forced by tulip forcers based in the United States. Tulip Day Washington was free to attend, open to the public, and non-commercial in nature.
