Container Centralen (CC), the Denmark-based provider of reusable load carriers for the European ornamental horticulture industry, has appointed Nanne van der Burg as Chief Operating Officer (COO) with effect from 1 March 2026. Gertjan Hakkers will join the company as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) from 1 April 2026. The appointments expand the CC management team from three to four members.
Gertjan Hakkers succeeds Barto Cleton, who is stepping down from his role at CC at the end of March 2026 to pursue external advisory work. Cleton served with the company for ten years.
Nanne van der Burg brings extensive experience in logistics, supply chain management, and asset management, gained in senior roles across several sectors, most recently in horticulture. He has a background in leading logistics service providers and in improving operational efficiency and optimising business processes. As COO, he will be responsible for CC's operational activities, with a focus on improving the reliability and quality of CC load carriers across Europe.
Gertjan Hakkers has broad international commercial experience across multiple sectors. He previously served as Managing Director and Commercial Director at an international organisation active in horticulture, solar energy, and extrusion. As CCO, his focus will be on strengthening the commercial organisation, deepening customer relationships, and delivering on CC's growth ambitions.
New growth phase
CC states that the expansion of the management team reflects its ambition to further professionalise the organisation and prepare for a new phase of growth in reusable load carriers within the European ornamental horticulture industry.
