Yeager Energy to expand geothermal capacity in Oostland, Netherlands

© Yeager Energy

Yeager Energy is set to expand its geothermal operations in the Oostland greenhouse region of the Netherlands. Alongside its existing doublet in Bergschenhoek, formerly operated by Wayland Energy, the company plans to develop a second and potentially a third doublet at the Schreyrackseweg in Bergschenhoek.

Yeager Energy acquired geothermal company Wayland Energy in early 2025, after which the operation was renamed Yeager Energy Bergschenhoek. Wayland had already completed the preparatory work for a second doublet, including securing a site, obtaining an SDE renewable energy subsidy, and establishing a grid connection. The new location sits between the greenhouse areas of Wilgenlei and Oosteindsche Polder.

Demand for sustainable heat in the Oostland greenhouse sector exceeds current supply, a situation that is expected to continue. Yeager Energy aims to contribute to the transition toward sustainable, affordable, and reliable heat for greenhouse horticulture and, in time, for the built environment as well.
