San Francisco's Union Square will be transformed into a colorful tulip garden on Saturday, March 21, as the Union Square Alliance hosts its annual Tulip Day Presented by JPMorganChase.
Organizers said the event will feature 80,000 American-grown tulips from Dutch bulbs, with members of the public invited to pick a free bouquet of eight tulips each for themselves or as a gift.
Tulip Day marks the start of Union Square in Bloom, an annual seasonal celebration in which local businesses join in with floral displays, food, cocktails and special events.
The event is organized by the Union Square Alliance and supported by the Office of Mayor Daniel Lurie, the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development, San Francisco Recreation and Park, Anthos, Union Square Foundation, San Francisco Flower Market and the Consulate General of the Netherlands in San Francisco.
