"Every rose has its own digital ID"

Thanks to its unique climatic advantages, Yunnan has become a major production region for cut roses, with its importance continuing to grow. An increasing number of cut roses are shipped from here to destinations around the world, and rose enterprises in the region are expanding and becoming increasingly professional.

Yunnan Holyflora Horticulture Co., Ltd. has achieved remarkable success in the International Grower of the Year 2026 competition, winning the Cut Flowers & Bulbs Winner award and also being named a Sustainability Finalist.

Rooted in Yunnan, connected globally
Established in Yunnan for over a decade, Yunnan Holyflora operates farms in different areas across the province and cultivates more than 200 cut rose varieties. The company has established strong partnerships with many international breeders, such as Interplant, Schreurs, and Dümmen Orange. "We are currently in discussions with overseas breeding companies regarding exclusive rights to new varieties," according to Rick from Yunnan Holyflora.

Currently, "Alter Ego" (Manchandy) – known as the "Bestie Rose" in the Chinese market – is a major cut rose variety in their farms. It features an attractive color and good flower shape, making it very popular in the market. Stem lengths range from 35 cm to 80 cm, with the 80 cm length being the most sought-after.

Women's power: Spreading warmth through flowers
Yunnan Holyflora's flowers are sold through both online and offline channels. The company has developed its own brand, "Just Rose." Throughout its development, the company has consistently focused on empowering women. Many women from nearby rural areas are employed at the farms, providing them with a stable income.

Furthermore, the company actively supports families with autistic children. Mothers of children with autism often find it difficult to work outside the home due to caregiving responsibilities. Through an online distribution model, they can generate income. The Holyflora farm campus also features artwork created by children with autism, adding a touching and colorful dimension to the floral landscape. According to Rick from Yunnan Holyflora, these initiatives reflect the company's commitment to social responsibility.

Digital farm: Every rose has its own "Digital ID"
Digital technology is evident throughout Yunnan Holyflora's farms. Since 2020, the company has been a pioneer in digital transformation, aiming to build a leading digital rose farm in China. Every rose plant has its own growth record, covering the entire process from seedling and cultivation to harvesting. A digital flower germplasm resource database has been established, enabling full traceability from plantlet to cut flower. This gives every rose its own exclusive "digital ID."

On the farm, employees simply wear a work badge and scan a QR code after completing their tasks. Their working hours, specific activities, and workload are automatically recorded, enabling efficient and precise modern management.
