NL: Cyclamen takes centre stage at Keukenhof indoor presentation

The Cyclamen Promotion Committee of Royal FloraHolland is participating in the indoor presentation at the Keukenhof in the Netherlands. Despite current production volumes being relatively limited, committee member Heleen Valstar has assembled a striking, colour-coordinated Cyclamen display in the Willem-Alexander Pavilion. The presentation highlights the versatility of Cyclamen as an interior plant across a range of home styles.

Colorful inspiration
Cyclamen are fresh, colourful plants that have regained popularity both indoors and in outdoor settings such as gardens, balconies, and conservatories. From mid-August through December, Garden Cyclamen are widely available, and the plant is increasingly seen as a flowering outdoor specimen during the autumn months.

Cyclamen suits traditional, modern, and contemporary interiors alike. The available range continues to expand, with a growing selection of standard varieties as well as specialty types.

Collective plant label
Cyclamen growers affiliated with Royal FloraHolland are united under the Cyclamen Promotion Committee, which has been promoting both indoor Cyclamen and Garden Cyclamen for six consecutive years. Plants can be identified by a label carrying the collective Cyclamen logo. The newest varieties are more vibrant and robust than previous generations. Garden Cyclamen are also well suited to outdoor use from late August until the first hard frost.

Widely available again soon
Few flowering houseplants produce as many blooms as Cyclamen. Each leaf produces a flower, and removing spent blooms promptly prolongs the flowering period. Cyclamen should be watered from below by placing the pot in a shallow tray of water for approximately 15 minutes.

The plant prefers moist but well-drained growing conditions and should not be left standing in water. It performs best in a bright location, out of direct sunlight.

Cyclamen and Garden Cyclamen are widely available from mid-August at garden centers, florists, supermarkets and online from €1.99. For more information and inspiration, visit www.cyclamen.info, Instagram and Facebook (@cyclamen.info)
