ING makes Chelsea Flower Show debut with contemporary art garden

ING will make its debut at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this May, supporting a new contemporary garden commissioned by the Saatchi Gallery.

ING's first appearance at the show supports its drive to grow its UK presence, building the brand and deepening relationships as it pursues its ambition to be the best European wholesale bank, powered by its global network. The garden, designed by kinetic artist Lucy Gregory and landscape designer Naomi Ferrett Cohen, marks the start of a three‑year partnership between ING and the Saatchi Gallery.

Alexandra MacMahon, UK Country Manager at ING said: "We're proud to partner with world‑class institutions like the Saatchi Gallery and the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. These collaborations create exceptional opportunities to engage clients, elevate the ING brand, and offer colleagues inspiring cultural experiences. The garden reflects values that are central to ING, sustainability, creativity and purpose, and we're excited to bring these to life at one of the UK's most high-profile cultural events."

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is the charity's largest annual fundraiser, supporting initiatives in gardening education, biodiversity and community wellbeing, while also acting as a global showcase for new approaches to planting and sustainable landscape design.

For ING, the partnership supports its drive to grow in the UK, creating distinctive moments to connect with clients and stakeholders, while bringing to life the link between climate and nature through culture.

Simon Armstrong, Director of Partnerships at Saatchi Gallery said: "We are delighted to be working with ING to realise Saatchi Gallery's Commissioned Garden at this year's Chelsea Flower Show. This collaboration brings together the very best of art and horticulture, creating a piece of work that is creative, joyful and engaging. With support from ING, we have been able to conceive an ambitious and dramatic garden at the heart of Chelsea, which asks the public to contemplate the relationship between art and the natural world."

Inspired by the energy of Matisse's The Dance, the installation is based on a scene of figures lost in the moment within the landscape, inviting visitors to close the circle by physically reconnecting the forms and reactivating the dance through touch.

Ferrett-Cohen's planting design brings warmth and vibrancy to the space, with a colourful palette that complements the sculptures and creates a dynamic balance as paths twist, foliage unfolds and the garden reveals itself through a sense of discovery.

The ING installation will be on display at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show from 19–23 May 2026, forming part of the Saatchi Gallery's wider presence at the event.
