United Selections began the year in January in Nakuru, continued in February in Naivasha, moved to Ecuador in March, and closed the first quarter with Open Days in Colombia. Step by step, these weeks created a strong opportunity to meet growers, partners and friends across regions and to exchange ideas about genetics, quality and the future direction of the industry.
During these Open Days, United Selections presented several important varieties from their portfolio, including developments in their spray assortment such as the Blossoms series and hybrid tea introductions like Hot Wave, Rise & Shine and Nova Vita, which continue to attract strong interest across markets.

In between these moments, the team also visited Ethiopia during HortiFlora. This visit allowed them to further strengthen and adjust their local approach together with new colleague Ermias Argaw, who recently joined the team — a valuable step as United Selections continues building its presence and collaboration in the region.

A special highlight during the Open Days in Ecuador was a presentation by Paul de Bruin, sharing insights from United Selections' work on botrytis tolerance. This remains an important topic for the sector, and progress at breeding level is seen as playing a key role in building a more reliable and future-proof production chain. The presentation is planned to be shared at upcoming moments in Colombia and Kenya.
Later this year, United Selections will return to Addis Ababa for a dedicated network event, where they will share more details about their pre-competitive botrytis project together with partners from the sector. More information will follow soon.
United Selections extends its thanks to everyone who joined them during these weeks in Kenya, Ecuador and Colombia, and also to those met in Ethiopia, with many familiar faces as well as new partners encountered along the way.

As Easter approaches, United Selections also highlights some of their strong yellow varieties that perfectly match the season: Golden Blossoms, Rise & Shine and Lighthouse, bright colours that bring energy into the greenhouse, reliability for growers, and strong presence in the market.
