Qatif governorate is hosting the inaugural Plants and Flowers Festival, an event promoting green living, community engagement, and sustainable practices. The festival encourages residents to cultivate home gardens and use available spaces for planting flowers and greenery, enhancing the urban landscape and promoting environmental sustainability.
It also aims to support tourism and recreation in the governorate, with a focus on boosting agricultural and ecotourism, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday. In addition, the festival offers direct engagement with the agricultural sector through educational booths and guidance sessions led by specialists.
Visitors can explore modern urban farming techniques and sustainable irrigation systems, promoting efficient use of natural resources and contributing to food security.
The festival opened on Tuesday with the participation of government agencies, private-sector entities, and families involved in cottage industries.
