The Ranunculus Pon-Pon Malva, Super Serie Petticoat, Rocky Diamond Blue Heart and the concept of Bloombites are the winners of the Glazen Tulp Award 2016.
These awards are 'the Oscars of the Dutch ornamental sector', says Rob Velinden, the presenter of the show. In this 25th edition of the show, the most distinctive products in the category cut flowers, house- and garden plants and concepts were put in the spotlight.

In the category cutflowers J.C. van der Hoorn (Ter Aar), Maatschap van Velden-Seuneke (’s-Gravenzande), Rijk de Jongh Flowers (Tuil), Maatschap J.W. Nikerk-Priem (Oosterland), A. Middelburg (Naaldwijk), Herman Moshe (Israel), Daniel Flowers (Israel) and Del Golfo Green SRL (Italy) won the first prize with the Ranunculus Pon-Pon Malva. The Pon-Pon Malva is, with its bi-colored flowers, popular with the consumer and therefore a good addition to the cut flower assortment, according to the judge.

Rob ten Have, with the Petticoat winner in the category house plants
Cyclamen Super Serie Petticoat mixed of Gebr. Ten Have BV won the first prize in the category house plants. They are giving the cyclamen a positive image again. The Super Serie Petticoat is a real innovation in the 'old fashion' cyclamen assortment.

The Wilgenlei BV (Bleiswijk), Fa. P. v.d. Berg (De Lier), Kwekerij Chris Endhoven (Honselersdijk) and van Son & Koot BV (Kaatsheuvel) won the Glazen Tulp in the category garden plants with their Gentiana Rocky Diamond Blue Heart. Rocky Diamond Blue Heart, bred by the Danish Dalina Gentics and supplied in the Netherlands by Young Flowers A/S, receives a lot of positive reactions from the consumers. With its beautiful colors, it is a nice flower for the fall.

BloomBitesof BloomBites won the Glazen Tulp in the category concepts. Edible flowers are hot and the fact that consumers themselves can use them in their dishes is what makes them extra appealing.
