US (CA): Greenhouse tour showcases importance of buying local flowers

According to register-pajaronian.com, walking into McLellan Botanicals' 15 acres of greenhouses is almost like entering into a fantasy world.

With a million orchids in its inventory, all different colors and varieties line the greenhouses from end to end, with only a narrow walkway breaking up the array of colours.

"Look around; everyone's happy," said Richard Muñoz, operations manager at McLellan Botanicals. "It's like coming to Disneyland."

Saturday was not only a visual treat for the guests who visited the Aromas greenhouses. McLellan Botanicals was one of five greenhouses across Watsonville and nearby areas that opened its doors to the public for the fifth annual Monterey Bay Greenhouse Growers Open House.
