About the role
For a large-scale tomato greenhouse in Austria, we are looking for a Labour Manager / Operations Manager who will take full responsibility for organizing, coordinating, and optimizing all labour-related activities within the greenhouse.
You will be leading a team of approximately 90 employees, often from different nationalities and backgrounds. Your role is to bring structure, clarity, and efficiency to the operation, ensuring that all tasks are executed correctly, on time, and according to the required standards. You act as the key link between the workforce and management, creating a well-organized and high-performing working environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage, lead, and motivate a team of ±90 greenhouse employees
- Plan and coordinate all daily operational activities
- Train and onboard employees on processes, quality standards, and efficiency
- Monitor and control execution on the work floor
- Optimize labour processes and improve productivity
- Work closely with growers and management
Your profile
- Proven experience managing large teams (preferably in greenhouse horticulture or a production environment)
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Hands-on mentality with a structured approach
- Excellent communication skills in an international environment
- Good command of English and German required
- Additional languages such as Polish or Romanian are a plus
