On 1 July 2015 FloraHolland will terminate its logistics activities at Bleiswijk. This move is part of the FloraHolland 2020 strategy, which was put in place with the help of members and customers at the end of 2014.
On 1 July 2015 FloraHolland will terminate its logistics activities at Bleiswijk. This move is part of the FloraHolland 2020 strategy, which was put in place with the help of members and customers at the end of 2014.
One of the aims of this strategy is reducing the overall costs for FloraHolland. To achieve this aim, the activities concerned with accepting, issuing and cleaning containers in Bleiswijk have been incorporated in the processes at other locations.
• For the accepting and issuing of CC containers, FloraHolland is offering an alternative for at least one year via the depot of the Container Centralen Bleiswijk.
• The service provision for fixing lock plates, empty trolleys, and goods in transit and transshipment will be terminated.
• The waste processing will no longer be done in-house. The remaining service activities will be moved elsewhere.
• For the other services, FloraHolland is looking for a suitable solution together with the users of those services.
We realise that this announcement comes rather soon after the moving of the clocks and the start of the Bleiswijk location's use as the Logistics Centre in 2014. New insights into the future cost of the logistics operation in Bleiswijk, set against the necessity to save money, led to this decision. FloraHolland will of course help its members, customers and staff to accommodate to this change as best it can.
