NZ: National chrysanthemum show coming to Hamilton Gardens
Cambridge's Jock Sinclair has been growing and showing chrysanthemums for over 40 years. The recurves, reflexes and the like he refers to are the names given to the different types of blooms that make chrysanthemums so varied and exceptional.
Sinclair is a long-time member of the Waikato Chrysanthemum Club's Cambridge section, and one of just a handful of local enthusiasts who keep the Cambridge Gardens filled with bright clouds of cushion chrysanthemums.
Right now, he and others in the group are busy putting the finishing touches to blooms they hope to exhibit at this year's National Chrysanthemum Society show, taking place at Hamilton Gardens over the weekend of May 2-3.
The annual show is being hosted by the Waikato club, which is one of the country's biggest and most active chrysanthemum societies. It is expected to present a large display of chrysanthemums from growers around the country.
