US (OH): Owners to pass on Possum Run Greenhouse

Possum Run Greenhouse and Gifts is ready for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

For 41 years, Justin and Lynn Marotta have built the expanse of greenhouses and retail shop into a household name and an oasis for customers. But they’re ready to hang up their trowels.

The 5384 Possum Run Road business is for sale.

“Entrepreneurs are risk takers, and that’s what we’ve done over the years, but it’s time for other entrepreneurs to live their dreams and have fun here,” Lynn said. “We’re looking for a couple full of energy and ideas to carry on the business.”

Nothing was planned when they started the business, Lynn confided.

She was a vocational home economics teacher in Lucas and Justin was the personnel director for Lazarus. Gardening wasn’t their dream, though Justin had grown up in the industry. His first job was working in his grandfather Nick Castello’s greenhouse.
