Netherlands: Financial crisis in retail also affects Garden Centers

The financial crisis in the Dutch retail sector now also affects garden centers. Tuincentrum Overvecht, a Dutch garden center chain with sixteen branches, are dealing with serious problems. Currently, they employ 450 people. Around 90 employees will be fired to keep the company running. Andries Borgeld, the owner of the garden center does not want to comment to the Dutch media regarding the reorganization.

The Tuincentrum Overvecht was part of the Blokker Holding until last year, but is taken over by the Borgeld Management Group.
