UK: Revival of Broomfield Hall plant centre can help Derby College students' careers grow

Job prospects for horticultural students will receive a boost after the reopening of Derby College's plant centre.

The centre at Broomfield Hall in Morley is open to the public each weekday, except Wednesdays, and weekends between 10am and 4pm, selling more than 40 varieties of vegetables, herbs, alpines, border perennials and bedding plants at cost effective prices.

It will also be holding regular Plant Fest events for staff and students to share their expertise with visitors. The first will be held tomorrow between 10am and 4pm. The day will include a hanging basket workshop in the morning and then the chance for visitors to talk to a plant doctor in the afternoon to discuss any problems they are having.

There will also be guidance on spring pruning and a gardeners' question time event at 3pm.
