Jamie Yantorno, Power Flowers:

"US (CO): "Longevity in this business distinguishes us"

Power Flowers brand annuals and perennials are grown by Center Greenhouse, a wholesale grower. Our plants are sold to local retail garden centers and landscapers. Our ancestor, Pietro Yantorno (also known as Pete Center) settled our land here in 1889 and began farming. The family grew celery, cabbage, lettuce and other vegetables and sold them at the Denargo Market in downtown Denver next to the 15th Street viaduct. In 1950, Pietro's son August, along with his sons Pete, Frank Sr. and Carl, built our first greenhouses. The family then began flower farming. Today, Frank Sr.'s son Frank, along with his two sons, Brian and Ken, own the operation. They are fourth- and fifth-generation growers on our land.

What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
First and foremost, I would say that our longevity in this business distinguishes us. We've been growing here for more than 125 years. Our longevity can be largely attributed to the superior quality of plants that we grow. We use both the knowledge passed down by our ancestors and modern growing technology to bring you some of the most powerful plants in the Colorado market today.
