Two thousand for both directors

FloraHolland: FNV furious about flower auction bonus

The union FNV is taking steps against a maximum bonus of almost two thousand for the two directors of FloraHolland.

The union considers it impossible that in a year with a reorganisation and a strike over the social plan, that a bonus is still being paid, states newspaper FD. "This is unexplainable on the work floor. There isn't any money for this," says FNV director Celil Çoban.

As was apparent from the annual accounts which were announced on May 28, 2014 was a turbulent year. There was tension between the directors and the personnel - partly caused by the disagreement about who should pay for the reform - which led to the first strike in 100 years. Further, FloraHolland has stopped with many services and projects and in 2014, 325 jobs were lost in the co-operative.

2013 was also a difficult year. Following interviews with members of the personnel, FNV were talking about a 'culture of fear.' Also poignant is the fact that previous directors - according to the FD - turned down their bonuses.

The commissioners stand behind the bonus decision because the problems were caused by previously deployed policy.
