Canada: Strategic alliance between Berger and Theriault & Hachey Peat Moss

Berger and Theriault & Hachey Peat Moss are pleased to announce the signing of a strategic alliance. This alliance involves the transfer of harvesting rights of a bog in the Baie-Sainte-Anne region, in New-Brunswick.

This new bog allows Berger to ensure the continuity of its Baie-Sainte-Anne and Bay du Vin facilities for the next 40 years. "We are very pleased with this alliance. It gives us access to top-quality peat," explained Mr. Claudin Berger, CEO. Berger has built its reputation with professional growers around the world thanks to the consistent quality of its products, which is guaranteed by access to raw material.

"This alliance enables our company to pursue its operations independently and therefore continue to serve our customers for years to come," added Mr. Gary Williston, President of Theriault & Hachey.

This news is also beneficial for the entire Canadian peat industry. Since the bog is now under the governance of Berger, it becomes Veriflora® certified, a certification for the responsible management of peatlands.
